Q: Caregiving is a noble profession but it can be tough one too. What do you think it takes be a great caregiver?

A: Caregiving is about being dependable, attentive, and listening. A good caregiver has to be trustworthy and knowledgeable. But above all caregiving is about compassion. I love my job. I love taking care of others with all my heart. Taking care of people with Alzheimer or Dementia is not easy. We have to be quick on our feet when we do Alzheimer Care or Dementia care. It can be an emotional experience. We have to take care of our clients to the best of our abilities.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1617871607967{margin-bottom: 5px !important;}”]

Q: Families looking for caregivers often find it hard to identify the right person. What advice would you give them?

A: When interviewing a caregiver, I would look at experience, and personality. If possible, let the client who is getting the services be the one to interview. The client and caregiver are going to be the ones that are going to be interacting. In the end, follow your heart and your gut.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1617871621061{margin-bottom: 5px !important;}”]

Q: Many clients are reluctant to get caregivers since they fear that their independence will be taken away. How do you help such a client who needs support but wants to stay independent?

A: Independent living is so important to someone that had been independent through their life. For example, my current client was a C suite executive in an insurance company for over 20 years. I would say that I am here to assist you with whatever assisted daily needs that you need help you. If they are still able to do some things independently I would let them do it. I am here if you need me. Trust and Chemistry make all the difference in preserving independence and balancing it with safety and peace of mind.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Q: How has your experience been with Care Mountain?

A: Being a caregiver and an industry insider, I love the fact that we are one of the only ones that send bios of caregivers to the family first and then if the family is interested then they set up with an interview with the caregiver one-on-one. Not every company has the courage to do it. It is very important to Care Mountain that the family and caregivers are best fit for each other – else there will be problems.
If I personally had a loved one who needed a caregiver, I would hire Care Mountain with no hesitations since I know the process is designed to enable the best fit for a client and caregiver – everyone else is secondary to this equation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
